Easy Batata Kees Recipe – Hashbrown Recipe
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Using a grater or a food processor, grate the potatoes and keep aside. Try to use the less starchy potatoes as that will give a crisper result, but not mandatory.
-
In a pan, add the ghee and keep it on medium-high heat. Add cumin seeds once the ghee is hot.
-
Now add the grated potatoes to the pan.
Potatoes oxidize quick and hence if you are making a larger quantity, then once you grate the potatoes, keep them submersed in water with little salt. This will avoid potatoes turning dark due to oxidization. -
Grind the roasted and shelled peanuts to make coarse powder. Do note that we do not need super fine powder as we need the crunchy bite of peanuts and the flavor. Stir the potatoes for few times and cook for about 4 - 6 minutes
-
Now add the ground peanuts and give a good stir. Cook for another 2 - 3 minutes.
Incase of allergies, you can skip the peanuts. -
The Batata Kees will be ready in 2 - 3 minutes. Add salt per taste, stir and serve hot !
